Exacorda 'The Bride'

Often seen as a small garden shrub. This one in "The Walled Garden" at Sunbury, has grown to approximately 8 metres tall.
The dead looking tree adjoining is actually a rarity in the UK. "The Persian Lilac" is perhaps only one of two growing in the Country. Textbooks say it is not hardy, this one is 10 metres tall and my estimate is that it has probably been there for 30 to 40 years.
