Happy Birthday to you.

Cynthia and I, together with friends A and C, went to the 1st anniversary celebration of Elizabeth Station -- one of our favorite Bellingham watering holes. For the $30 admission price, participants got four-ounce samples of seven beers, pizza, ice cream, cookies, birthday cake, and a tasting glass to keep. There were some excellent beers, and there weren't any I didn't like.

The place was crowded, but we'd anticipated that, and got there early enough to snag seats at one of the tables. When the beer queue started to lengthen, we compensated for it by getting in line before our glasses were empty.

It was a very enjoyable evening.

Oh, did I mention that the attractive young woman was serving the ice cream?
