Black wood spider
Nephila kuhlii
I could not find the argiope spider that I planned to blip today, so I thought I would blip the top side of the spider that I blipped yesterday. This is a shot that I failed to capture last year and it was looking doubtful today also. But, with some badgering, coaxing and beating with a small twig, she finally flipped sides and gave me the view that I needed for my records.
A good day, 23 keepers of 10 subjects, more than I have had for quite some time. Still, I think the black was the correct blip for today.
Yesterday's size estimates were a bit off. The body length is 1 inch and a leg spread of 3 inches is closer to the mark.
