Epiphyas postvittana

Mrs Catspaw discovered this Light Brown Apple Moth (Epiphyas postvittana) this evening when it flew out of an empty bag of horticultural grit that I had rinsed and left in the sun to dry while gardening before work today.

It quickly took refuge on our back garden fence, where it was quite effectively camouflaged by its cream and golden brown colouring.
