Village life

A different kind of day today. Run this morning, didn’t feel like going but thought it would be good for me and I actually enjoyed it. Did a few jobs, ordered some new jeans and tops for holiday and had a walk down by the river and through the woods. The cricket field was looking ready for a game and then we walked past the bowls club people were playing. The village square was lovely with people sat outside the two pubs, all socially distanced, enjoying the warmth and a beer. So we joined them. A Guinness and a local brew, sat in the sun with Hetty under the table in the shade. Then back home and while hubby had a read I chatted to our next door neighbour and friend, a bench under her window for her sit on and we chatted to a number of people from the village as they passed by.
It was lovely seeing people we haven’t seen for months.
Brother called after dinner and we are meeting for a walk and coffee tomorrow.
