Change of plan

Spent this morning, and the first part of the afternoon, preparing and oiling doors. The first coat on the ones to our bedroom and spare bedroom.

Then congratulations to Lucy, who phoned mid-afternoon with some brilliant news! After weeks of uncertainty, she'd just received an email informing her that she's been awarded a scholarship to do a PhD at Leeds University! So pleased for her.

Late afternoon, MrM and I went to the Ingram Valley, intending to walk up to a hill fort. We got there only to discover that access was blocked due to tree felling. Never mind! After a 'van tea' and some warming coffee - it was much colder than the forecast would have us believe - we had an exploratory amble in the valley, and watched the sun sink into a hazy sky (extra) as we walked back to the van.
