Food fight + WildflowerWeek results

We've been having great fun today with the front garden bird feeder, which is about 3 metres from the kitchen window.  The back garden birds also get fed and mostly consist of robins, various tits and goldfinches, but the front has been taken over by bigger creatures - squirrels, a woodpecker and quantities of starlings, who are incredibly greedy and quarrelsome!  A new coconut shell full of fat went out yesterday and they've been squawking about it ever since.  They must be feeding young.  Some of them arrive with a beakful of worms and still expect to knock the other guys off the perch and have their share.  There is usually one looking upwards like this beady-eyes, watching for incoming flights!
