wool
An afternoon walk around the fields and woods. Bits of wool have been left here and there on fences, grass and tree trunks - enough to make a jumper if you wished.
Some of the fields have only just been fertilised now that the hard morning frosts seem to have ended. I know that farmers have had trouble with the grass not growing - as well as the cold nights, there has been very little rainfall this month. Not much for the sheep to eat :-(
Lots of lovely wildflowers everywhere, though - celandines, violets, primroses, wild strawberry, wood anemone and early bluebells - and birds singing their hearts out. It was meant to be a cloudy day today, but we have had sunshine and enough warmth to sit outside.
Tonight our local church eco group is hosting a "Meet the Candidates" Zoom event; an opportunity for people to ask our local politicians about their parties' policies on the environment and climate change.
