Wheatear #44

A change of plan as we had intended to go to Llandudno and the Great Orme. After a check on the weather, we decided to leave that to another day and go to RSPB Marshside for a couple of hours instead. 

The hides are still not open but we had a nice walk out towards the sea on the marsh where it was lovely to see and hear plenty of skylarks and meadow pipits. I was going to post a skylark until this male wheatear popped into view. He's quite a handsome bird and has relegated the poor skylark into extras. 

It was a lovely morning and we were back for a late lunch and a quick visit to my parents. 

Good news - my Mum has started driving again! My brother took her out in their new car on Sunday and she went out again this morning for a short run by herself and feels more confident - I think she will be fine now. We managed to find out how the windscreen washers work and how to open the bonnet (just in case.....you never know!) and now she is going to read the manual to see what else she needs to find out. This means we can now start going away again and not worry that they can't go anywhere or have to ask neighbours to take them to appointments.
