Blossom and berry
I was struck by the combination of last year's fruit with this year's blossom on the cherry crab apple tree that we passed on our walk this morning. At the time we were on Leith Walk, returning from a successful mission to the Edinburgh bargain store. There we bought a carton of green dye to restore to glory the canvas of the seats that Liz and Tony gave us yesterday.
Most of the rest of the day has been focused on domestic tasks such as supermarket shopping and washing, and organising.
Now that the back garden project is complete, we are turning our attention to the yarden walls. We'd like to restore them to their natural state of bare stone. I have never been so impressed with a tradesman as I was this afternoon when I contacted a company highly recommended for such work. The stonemason responded to my email enquiry this afternoon within 15 minutes, arranged a visit to measure up about half an hour later, and had supplied an estimate for the full job by supper time.
I also made arrangements to see Véronique for coffee on Monday, and to discuss my joint pain with the doctor a week on Friday. Mr hazelh ordered a new bread maker, and started to build a bird table using left-over pallet wood from the compost bin construction on Sunday.
We have caved into blipfoto peer pressure and will be checking out Line of duty series 1 later this evening.
Exercise today: walking (14,360 steps).
