More Horse Chestnuts!
Well, we were booked to go to our local tip this morning. But the car had other ideas and refused to start. So cancelled our exciting trip out and rebooked for tomorrow. Battery on charge.
So, more gardening doing maintenance on the planters and discovering one of them has wotted away. Major repair work.
The blip is a stand of Horse Chestnuts. I picked up the seeds to these while working as a surveyor. I was going round a derelict office block and there were loads of conkers in their jackets on the ground. Took some home and put them in a plastic bag and left them in the garage. Promptly forgot about them and rediscovered them some time later and they had sprouted! Potted them into a shallow dish and the rest is history. This was over 25yrs ago, probably 30. They have outgrown 2 dishes. They need attention like a top dressing and one needs a prune. The roots also need a trim. It's a true bonsai because the leaves are miniature and not full Horse Chestnut size.
This is what we are planning for the ones I blipped yesterday. We do other trees too.
Extras are repainted planters.
