Graver Arboretum ...

... fiddlehead fern.

Even though we are both so busy doing things around the house getting ready for a holiday we wanted to get out for some fresh air and sunshine. The fresh air was easy but the sunshine was in and out.  But it was still nice being out.

Our destination was Graver Arboretum to see if the azaleas were blooming.  We were disappointed on that aspect of our walk as there weren't that many in bloom.  It was surprising because in our neighborhoods close to home most of the azaleas are in full bloom.

However, we did stumble upon lots of these beautiful fiddlehead ferns.  Did you know that these are edible?  I didn't!  But Fiddleheads can cause food poisoning if they have not been stored, prepared or cooked properly. Thousands of people each year get food poisoning from eating these delicacies.  Safe to say .... I won't be eating any!
