Public Enemies & A Gundown On The Parade

EDIT: As promised, here's a photo taken with the disposable camera I had on the night. These are Ali and Ruth, recreating a scene from Public Enemies, which takes place in the Great Depression era. Fitting. Read on for some context.

The day wasn't worth remembering, but the night sure as hell was!

What a night! Another one of those pub crawls to add to the growing list of legendary nights at uni. Pubarazzi version 2, this time led by new social sec Eve. It was a success, everybody really made an effort on the dressing up side, the theme being 1920s prohibition era. See here for a brilliant example. Here's the rundown:

- Jug: warm up drink with Eve.
- Kelseys: formed the one and only 'OverEggsposed' team with Ali, Zhi, Sara, Arron and Ruth. A rehash of the world renowned and winning team Mercedes Lenz from back in Term 1, we were set to go big on this crawl's list of challenges! Equipped with a black and white Ilford disposable camera, courtesy of Zhi, and 3 normal disposables, one of them stolen from another team it would seem. We start ticking off challenges, including taking a couple of shady photos in the smoking area and stealing another team's egg.
- In between pubs, handing out cigars, true 1920s style, and smoking them out of cigarette holders. How overly classy can you get? Some dodgy dealings under a lamppost.
- Jug again: Hava joins our group and we succeed a couple of low key challenges by making friends with pink-haired lacrosse players and so on...
- Robbin's Well: using our team connections (Monsieur Arron), we acquire some boiling water to hard boil our egg and protect it additionally within a tin. Hava takes a tequila shot from a teacup, good times.
- Benji's: A lot happens here.... right? Something about that place makes me forget what happens there, I probably spend too much time at Benji's. Human pyramids, linking arms with strangers, gang wars, swapping clothes... And I manage to steal a second team's egg.
- Outside, we emulate John Dillinger from Public Enemy in front of a cashpoint bank, for a famous movie scene, as well as gundown on the parade!
- Saints: Yes, we made it to Saints, and I didn't have a single say in the matter! Looks like others are channeling the spirit. And our egg made it the whole way through, although it seems some of our disposable cameras might not have...
