My sister gave birth today, around a month early. All is fine and well, although it was certainly a surprise when she called me to let me know. A baby girl, my first niece (or nephew, for that matter). As yet unnamed, and because the early arrival means preparations haven’t been done, fiancé Matt used the restricted visitor time allowed at the hospital as a good excuse to dash home and build the crib.

With the George Floyd verdict going the right way, it’s been a day of big positives. I’ve suggested the baby is named Georgia but it might be too woke an idea to be pushing a few hours after birth.
