Marcia - IWW Day

These are the hands of my friend Marcia.
She holds together a family which has suffered tragedy, copes with a debilitating illness, works full time in a demanding, relentless and, at times, difficult job with little thanks and lots of criticism.
She is unfailing polite to people who are abusive and racist to her, understanding that at times of stress people crumble in anger and fear.
She is the first into work and the last out.
Marcia is the woman that International Working Womens Day should celebrate and honour. The low paid, hard working, mother, sister, lover, wife who cooks, cleans, launders and loves in order that other peoples lives can be better.
She is a gem.
