Glorious Autumn

Once upon a time there was a forward thinking Government that in the great depression used it's people to plant forests.  Little forest villages grew up to house the people who gained a variety of skills and worked hard to maintain the forests.  The foresters thought to plant ornamental trees for all to enjoy throughout the seasons.  As in all fairy tales there have to be dark forces at play.  In the 1980's neoliberal economic policies over took the Government and the forests were sold off to the market and the little villages emptied.  The trees don't care who owns them and the lovely ornmentals are a reminder of what once was.

I know this story because I lived the last ten years of  it.  Today we went south to what was Golden Downs forest to enjoy the beautiful trees.
