Long-tailed Duck

This bird is still at Silverlake, and comes really quite close sometimes. Luckily I had my camera with me today. It will be off to its much more northerly breeding grounds soon, although from its plumage it's not ready to breed yet. The adult males have wonderful long tail feathers but this is a young male.
