Gates to Nowhere

Funny place to stick a pair of fancy gate pillars and small iron gates when they actually open out onto just a field and look like they have not been opened in many a decade

i must check round and about to see why they could possibly have been put there in the first place as they are a bit too posh to have just been the entrance to a farmers field plus they are not wide enough for a tractor.

Things like this sort of set my mind wandering and imagining reasons as to why things are where they are.
