Rainbow roots

Rainbow chard with rainbow roots.  I had failed to buy a packet of seed to grow chard this year so decided to order some plugs to ... I had no idea they would come so beautifully packaged.  No plastic in sight.. all recycled card and no pots on the plugs.. perfect. They are now planted and tucked in tonight with a cloche to keep the frost off these little babes.  
A beautiful 'EarthDay' wall to wall sunshine and birdsong.. the lyrid meteor shower tonight should be visible as there is no cloud here.. 
Sad news tonight we heard that my Mother in laws cousin has passed away . . he was a lovely man and drove us away from our wedding in one of his gorgeous vintage cars.. a primrose coloured Armstrong Siddley.
