Tiny White Flowers
I am still apparently obsessed with tiny white wildflowers. On the left is Thyme-leaved Speedwell (Veronica Serpyllifolia). On the right is Sticky Mouse-ear Chickweed (Cerastium Glomeratum). STICKY MOUSE-EAR CHICKWEED!!!! I can't even. It does have sort of hairy leaves and stems - which would make it sticky - and those little leaves might well look a bit like mouse ears, I suppose. Also - who knew there were so many different chickweeds? Meanwhile, I was aware of the little blue stuff that I knew as "Speedwell" but unaware that there was a white variety that is "Thyme-leaved!" It pays to leave the grass a long time before mowing and then to investigate things before mowing them down...
