earth...

...day

is a good day

to celebrate the planet - and all which - is upon it - plants, insects, flowers, trees, water, mountains - even humans

in fact - in thinking about our world - it brought to mind - this old hymn - you might remember it as well - it’s called ‘for the beauty of the earth’

for the beauty of the earth,
for the beauty of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies:
christ, our god, to thee we raise
this our sacrifice of praise.
for the beauty of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale, and tree and flower,
sun and moon and stars of light:
christ, our god, to thee we raise
this our sacrifice of praise.

i have just included - a couple stanzas here - since the full hymn - is truly lengthy - but you get - the idea, right - supposedly the author based - the words on a scripture verse - from ephesians 5:20

‘giving thanks always for all things unto god and the father in the name of our lord jesus christ’ (kjv)

this doesn’t surprise me - because i have learned over - these years picking up - my camera daily to - cherish what is before me - the simple things abba puts in front of me - to photograph so i can remember - the beauty he has graced - us with to protect and guard - while we are here - it’s our duty to take - care of this earth - it’s all we have

i find myself worrying - over it, thinking how much - more abuse can it tolerate - from us humans - because we’re not treating - it well, our beloved earth - think hard about a change - you might make to - help prolong ‘the beauty of our earth’ - and in so doing - know you will be - making strides towards achieving...
