At the end of the day

A full morning of Zoom meetings including a judicial hearing. The patient and we were fortunate with the Judge. One of the ones who is very relaxed about dealing with more behaviourally difficult patients than this one, and for all of them gives them a careful hearing and evaluates the reasons given by staff as to why we believe that the person is mentally disordered as defined in the Act. And has always been willing to release patients from compulsory status. Not the easiest case, and not made any easier by me being on Zoom rather than in the room. Nevertheless, it went well.

A restful afternoon flew by and I went out quite late for a jog. Away from the bayside as the tide was fully in. I spotted a number of Tui in different trees on top of the hill in Highfield Garden Reserve. My photo is of a Tui in a Coral Tree; an Australian import. Shortly before this, I had watched as another Tui had chased away an Eastern Rosella, also an immigrant from Australia and much maligned by some. Their dislike is apparently because they will outcompete NZ birds; certainly not Tui.
