Chiaroscuro

It's my job to move Mystère's now rather tattered box to coincide with the movement of the morning sunshine. Pro tip: give your cat a regularly renewed cardboard box and never have to stop him sharpening his claws on the furniture again. It also contains his favourite toy: one of those twangy woven packing strips. He's a cheap date!

A gorgeous day today: we planned ahead and took lunch down to the garden. Lack of tending means it's a real jungle, the only sounds birdsong and the wind in the trees at the top of the hill. A couple of hours lounging in the sun (S)/shade (me) reading.

Note to ceridwen and freespiral, I'm currently reading The Five. So well written, albeit very grim; it reminded me irresistibly of Zola's L'Assommoir.
