Adder day

I’m really afraid of snakes... can’t look at photos, can’t watch them on tv... I know they live on the mosses, but everyone says ‘I’ve been walking here for X years, never seen one’ just my luck today, one slithered off the path into the ferns as I walked by... scared the hell outta me... two birders stopped to see what the fuss was (me screaming and jumping up and down) and were very disappointed not to have see the creature.
