One In A Thousand
My blip for today is a Millennium Mile post, one of a thousand cast iron mileposts commissioned by Sustrans and located all round the UK. Four artists were set the task of designing different mile posts to celebrate the National Cycle Network at the turn of the (21st) century. This particular one is at Waun Esgairgaled (450 metres above sea level) on the mountain road between Llanidloes and Machynlleth in Mid Wales. 16 miles to Llanidloes, and 8.5 miles to Machynlleth. We had tootled out to the coast for the day and after a stunning walk on the beach at Ynyslas were going over the spectacular mountain route on our way home. An unbelievable sunset and a Millennium Mile post combined to make a fascinating blipportunity.
Please do stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.
