Hedgehogs find reason for protective gear

This is an old man who was at the demo' today (protesting at yet another attempt to hang on to power by the twats that have been screwing things up for the past 7 years...honestly, these guys are now so illegitimate that next to them, the bastard son of Idi Amin attempting to claim the throne of Scotland would look like a reasonable idea ratified by all). The demo' was peaceful enough although we were all videoed by the police, and there was a fair bit of provocation considering the government keep on insisting that we're living in a democratic socialist paradise that's the envy of the sentient world. We come to the same conclusion every time: If you're so scared of the people at the demo', can it really be worth it?! We were moved back about 20 metres from a barricade at the pavement before the beginning of the Parliament car-park! Does that 20 metres really mean that much...if someone were to get over the barricade (added obstacles of policemen dressed in very macho gear with dogs and Christ alone knows what else), they'd still have about 300 metres until they got to the parliament building itself! Typically, when the opposition read out the request for parliament to dissolve itself (yes, it's a bit odd, I know. It's essential to remember that you should never allow the old foxes of the Socialist party to write the constitution for the new, "changed" regime! Note this for the future!), the government MPs, those who got us into the mess and who have done nothing (and yes, this is quite literal) for months now (essentially, parliament hasn't produced any legislation for months), reacted with laughter and catcalls. This is yet another reminder of the mirror problem that Hungary has; things that are normally one way, are reversed here...the parties condemned as being on the right of the political spectrum have policies that provide more of a social net than the policies of the Socialists. The liberals have an eppy fit if anyone even questions their liberal qualities, which usually ends up with the arrest of the person that questioned the liberal qualities. The police, far from being here to help, are at the beck and call of the government, ready to shoot people's eyes out with tear gas grenades fired horizontally from the shoulder (2006, October). The police in London caused the death of a man and there seem to be consequences. The police in Budapest were much smarter than that in 2006...they all wore ski masks and had no identification numbers. These days they've got ID numbers, but with the fact that even the judiciary complain about the lies that they tell to confuse and cover each other, I'd be surprised if anyone actually got done, ever, for anything. One policeman, who stole a teenager's phone after having arrested him, then sold the phone to a colleague. The case was finally brought to court and promptly thrown out...they'd taken too long getting the case to court! Right, apologies for the rant!
P.S. Just heard...they've "defended" themselves with tear gas, again!
