St Saviour's Dock
Another pleasant day wandering around London. We walked eastwards along the river, past Tower Bridge, over this dock, and back along Bermondsey Street, where we stopped for a late lunch. Afterwards we continued back past Liverpool Street station and, later across the river where we stopped to rest for a while at the Grade 1 listed ruins of St Dunstan in the East church, where there were many photographers and their models using the setting as a studio.
I realised that, in my haste this morning to back-blip an image from yesterday, I chose an image that wasn't entirely sharp. It is no surprise that it wasn't sharp: it was taken late in the evening when it was getting quite cold, I had shared a bottle of wine with our meal and the camera was hand held at 1/10th second without a tripod or stabilisation. I think today's image is sharper.
It was bright and sunny all day but, although the sun was warm, the wind was quite chilling and I was glad I went back to fetch a coat when we left for the walk this morning. Again there were lots of people around with no obvious social distancing and groups of more than six people who did not appear to be family groups. We kept away from people as much as we could and, much as we would have loved to stop for a drink or a meal at one of the many places open for service, we felt they were all too crowded for us to be comfortable.
