First Dragon of 2021

It being a lovely warm day and Janet busy in the greenhouse, I took the camera for a walk down to the nature reserve. The walk is along narrow lanes, and normally is a lovely route. 

Today someone made a significant and sadly fatal error on the motorway, which closed it for most of the day and trapped a lot of people in the motorway services. Some of them knew about the back way, and the lane was full of noise and pollution. Ah well. Someone else's day was worse.

Anyhow. I spent a delightful hour sunning myself in the part woodland part meadow reserve, and spotted my first dragonfly of the season. She's a female broad bodied chaser, and she hung around just long enough to dry her wings off and then was gone.
