European Starling

There were two of these birds in the backyard this afternoon.   I thought they were just a couple of plain, black birds at first, but as I watched them looking for lunch in the grass, I noticed their beautiful colours shining in the sunlight.    I had to consult the Audubon Guide Book once again in order to put a name to the birds.    So much to learn!
