Favourite

Today's challenge was to photograph something on the theme "Favourite".

One of my favourite photographic subjects is trees, especially in winter when their skeletal shapes are revealed. If I can find a well shaped tree set against an unobtrusive background I am very happy.

Today I didn't have time to travel far, but I managed to find this shapely group of trees not so far from home. The background is largely the rather bland, grey sky, which isn't ideal, but at least the rain caused the trees in the background to recede into a misty grey so that the main subject stands out boldly. I only got slightly wet taking this photograph.
