Goose
We walked down to the end of Moss Lane with J as she hasn't been for quite a few weeks. Very dry ground now as we haven't had rain for weeks and you do wonder how the farmers are coping as it's the growing season and the crops will suffer.
Where horses have been down the lane, as it is a bridleway too, during the wet weather over the winter period, the ground was chewed up a lot and now it's so dry the ruts have hardened and it can be quite a challenge to your feet so sensible footwear is a must.
Coming back towards the village we could see something in amongst the wheat stalks, which aren't very high yet. Going over to see what it was this goose popped it's head up, looked at us, didn't like what it saw and then waddled off across the field stopping to look back occasionally.
We left it there and continued on home for a pot of tea without scones, saving them for tomorrow.
Thank you for my stars. Very nice of you all.
