Three Baptisms And A Promise

We started our worship at FBC this morning with the beautiful picture of the death of the old sinful self and the beginning  of a new life in Jesus that baptism shows us.  After a time of congregational praise, led by Ben and Daniel  and a wonderful choir special for which there are no pictures because I was singing , our interim pastor, Dr. David Smith, was back in the pulpit today .  He spoke to us about the fact that Romans 8:28 is often misunderstood as a blanket promise made to all people that nothing bad will happen if God is truly good.  The verse actually says that God causes ALL THINGS ( the good , the bad, the ordinary, the extraordinary) to work together for the good of those who LOVE Him and are called according to His purpose, but you need to read the entire verse to get that, not just the part that sounds good to you at the moment.  Something to think about this week, for sure.......
