Black-tailed Godwits

These pretty beastie are passing through Uist on their way to Iceland at the present. A few days ago, I spotted one with a colour ring and sent the detials off  to get its history. By return I was told it had been ringed as an adult in Iceland but today I got the full history.
It had been ringed in July 2008 and so was a decent age. My sighting was the 44th time it had been resighted with other sightings in Iceland, Portugal, the Netherlands, France and Scotland.
Best of the lot, the previous sighting had been two days previously in the Netherlands!
A well travelled bird.
