Pairs of fairy slippers

Every year when the white dead nettles come into flower I am reminded of a fairy story from a book I had as a child. In it the fairies take off their shoes at night and hide them under the petals of the flowers. I am always amazed at the delicate stamens which do look like little pairs of shoes! Whenever I go for a walk with someone and tell them about this they are also surprised and amazed too! Check them out yourselves!
