Comet preparations
This is not Comet Pan-STARRS. I thought it was at first but it moved away rather quickly so I knew it was a reflected vapour trail from an aircraft. The cloud-bank was in the way and it was getting worse so Linda and I used this opportunity as a test run for the cosmic visitor tomorrow and for the next several evenings at sunset. It is a new comet so it could be a great one or a dud. I'm hoping it's great. The last comet I recall seeing was Kahoutek in 1973 (40 years ago?!). I missed Halley in 1986 due to prolonged cloud cover. The real show-stopper should be Comet ISON due later this year in November. Two comets this year!
