In The Can

One of my favourite bits of music trivia (totally irrelevant to my day, but vaguely relevant to this empty paint tin) is that the band REM, when they formed, originally considered calling themselves Cans Of Piss. Quite difficult to imagine the Radio One DJs of the early Nineties chirpily announcing "and here's the new hit Shiny Happy People, by Cans Of Piss" over the airwaves, so I suppose Mr Stipe and his associates made the right choice commercially speaking. Still, I can't help but feel that rock history in general was a bit tamer for the switch.
