Bang Bang
Hitting the peanut hard with her incredibly powerful beak was great to watch. I was overjoyed to see this for the first time here this year as it means she is feeding babies.
In front of her you can see a cavity into which she places the peanut. The shell and skin are discarded then it's smashed up into tiny pieces. This happens a few times till she has a good beakful then off she flies to her brood with food now the appropriate size for tiny mouths. I am hopeful in time she might bring them into the garden like last year!!
