Explosive

This morning I had a nice but exceedingly wet ride out. It was the first proper ride out Jeepers has had in about 4 weeks due to a hoof abcess. It rained soon after we set off and stopped soon after we returned.

Thankfully I was still at the field when the Coastguards, police and Army bomb squad arrived to do a controlled detonation of a WW2 hand grenade that was found yesterday in the middle of Stromness. They were detonating it on the beach below the horses field.

Lots of curfuffle and back and forth between them and me about where they wanted me and the horses and after 3 different instructions, I ended up moving them from the field entirely. They grazed leisurely on the track leading away from the field and the beach and halted chewing grass for all of 1.5 seconds following the detonation.

Dogs and more horses made up the rest of the day. Then home to await the return of Gorgeous
