Can you hear the cuckoos?

There was at least one on each side of the valley.
A epic run today. Started in Keswick and up Walla Crag (extra is a view of Derwentwater from just past the top). Down to Ashness Bridge, up to Watendlath (the pic was on the way there), over to Rosthwaite and a few minutes rest.
Across the valley and up to the path that goes behind Castle Crag. Along almost to Grange and then up a bit to paths partway between valley and ridge, before descending to lake and back to Keswick. Over 26k and 860m climbing.
Mr Rat did as far as Rosthwaite but then went all the way up the hill and joined my route where I went down to the lake.
Slower than expected, I knew I'd have to walk up many of the hills but some of the other paths were too rough and dangerous to run (unless you're a real expert).
Very chilly wind but was well prepared.
Saw loads of flowers, a number of birds, including dipper, pied wagtail and wren, some Belties with calves and both black and white cute wee lambs.
Great day but really tough.
Visited Mum in the evening.
