"Wait for me Mum!"

I went down to the castle this morning and spotted a female mallard with four ducklings.  This one got separated from the rest and paddled at top speed (for a tiny chick) to catch up with them.

There were some coot chicks in a nest but I couldn't get a decent shot as they were well hidden with reeds.

I made a batch of leek and potato soup as I'd got some leeks that needed using up.  It's always a favourite.
