Clearance

The contractors have been in this week doing extensive work on the common to clear dense invasive gorse and woodland. The work is clearly destructive and has been controversial. Some people still don't see that 50 years of neglect have almost destroyed the open heathland habitat. If this patch performs like the areas cleared in previous years, in two to three years time this will be covered in young heather plants.
