The eye-striped Eurasian Nuthatch

The lovely nuthatch. When I started birding, the book I had on birds said there were none of these in Scotland (it was an old book to be fair!) From around 1989, this breed started to arrive north of the border, with Dumfries & Galloway providing an important stepping stone for an invasion of Scotland. Now there are hunners o them!
