The Saga Continues ...
After our last disappointing visit to Maine, we returned today determined to start making inroads into moving things into Portside from Sweet Haven, and getting Sweet Haven de-winterized and ready for summer rentals sometime before June.
We were assured that the electrician would be all finished with his work, and that the water would be turned on and everything functioning properly. Naturally, when we arrived, the electrician was still hard at it, the place was filthy with dust and discarded packing materials, the water wasn’t turned on yet because they were still sourcing parts for some valve or other that had corroded, and to put the icing on the cake, the washing machine from Sweet Haven was sitting out on the deck looking very forlorn indeed!
Here’s a collage of the challenge ahead of us this week. All that stuff has to move next door, and the washing machine which apparently blew some kind of gasket when the water was turned on over there is now at the contractor’s shop. We hope we will see it again some day.
No internet service is hooked up yet, so I am using Mr. W’s cell phone hot spot which is very s-l-o-w. I was so exhausted yesterday evening that I decided not to bother to try to get my blip posted in time … so a “back blip” it will have to be.
