Low Tide, Fog
Low tide means we can walk from the pier past the river mouth (where that big dark rock juts into the frame), all the way to the just visible lighthouse. It's about a mile and a half each way. At this time of year the river mouth is blocked by sand, which is why you can't see any outflow. There is always a lot of to-do involving flooding and fish spawning and regulations and bulldozers and nets and several different agencies. Every year it silts up. It empties. It's a river. In the meantime we are lucky enough to be able to drive down here before breakfast and take a nice long walk.
