Woods

The starting point of most of our morning walks - a wooden bridge over a muddy pool and into the woods. It’s quite a small piece of woodland but covered at the moment with wood anemones and bluebells. According to Country File the other week, the amount of wood anemones shows that it’s an ancient woodland and will have been here for hundreds of years, as the wood anemones is a plant that takes a long time to spread. Nice to think about that as we walk through each morning, listening to all the birds.

My drawing class started again tonight. We focused on tone, and I tried to draw a pine cone as it has lots of very dark tones. Maybe this weekend I’ll get the drawing finished!
