Dishoom

Another theatre weekend in London and this morning we called into this really unusual place, Dishoom - a Bombay cafe on St Martins Lane.

I loved the wackiness of the decor and the oddness of the English on the menu. My first taste of House Chai. I'm definitely going to go back.

Last night we went to see Helen Mirren in "The Audience". She plays the Queen during the meetings with 8 of the 12 Prime Ministers she has had since her accession. This is unmissable and probably some of the best theatre I've ever seen. Instant standing ovation from us all.

Sublime to the ridiculous. This afternoon we went to see The Scottish play starring the gorgeously sexy James McAvoy. It didn't work to declaim Shakespeare's words in shouted Glaswegian. In the very intimate (small) confines of the Trafalgar Studios the front row were already trying to wash the artificial blood out of their clothes. It gave "out damned spot" a whole new meaning.
