Dad & Mom

Our feeders were busy today! The sounds of demanding baby birds filled the air! It seems that first (maybe second) clutches are beginning to fledge and very hungry baby birds are everywhere! The Wren and Titmouse kids are, as usual, the first to leave their nests, and spend their days following their parents around demanding to be feed. We should be seeing little Downy Woodpecker babes any day now and the Red-bellied woodpeckers, shown here (he on the left and she on the right), spent most of their afternoon grabbing mouthfuls of BarkButter and flying off with it, presumably to feed their young. I love this time of the year! :)
