AFL

After saying I don’t follow any football codes here in Australia ( there are four main ones including rugby league, rugby union, soccer and AFL) we did go and watch Leo playing this morning. His team, the Giants, were up against the Bushrangers. My eyes are not good and I had trouble working out what was happening or where he was for much of the game. He had a great time and even scored a goal.

A couple of things I liked. The first was the opposition team were short of players so Leo and another boy ( or girl) turned their footy jumpers inside out and made up numbers for the first quarter. He reverted back for the rest of the game. Their team won 60-0. They stop counting at that point so the loser doesn’t feel too bad.

We took a couple of chairs and were joined by his parents and other grandfather.

Bathurst has many colourful autumn trees and is gearing up for some good weeks. I have one pictured here in the car park. Leo is in extras. Lower LHS.
