Martinski's Airfix kits
When I was thirteen, my mother attempted suicide, and was hospitalised for the best part of a year. I was placed in a childrens’ home. Somewhere along the way, our possessions (mine and my mother’s) were put into storeage. Later on, while still in hospital, mum could no longer afford the storeage fees, and our stuff was put into the local auction hall. I was told about this and invited to rescue what I wanted. Among the things I took were the Subbuteo football team you’ve already seen, and these completed Airfix kits. (Apart from the larger Spitfire which I did as an adult.) The smaller grey and green Spitfire was the first kit I ever made. Possessing these things has nothing to do with nostalgia.
