Lapwings at Ardinning

Loch Ardinning Wildlife Reserve belongs to the Scottish Wildlife Trust and is not far from where we live. We went up for a walk this morning around 08:30 and saw a wonderful display of four lapwing tumbling through the air, there are three of them in this photo but you will probably have to take my word for it as I am not very good at capturing birds in flight! Their call ‘pee-wit’ is very loud and unmistakeable and why they are sometimes also called the Peewit.
